The Gubernatorial Race

With Thornfield’s departure, the Crown is about to pick a new governor for the region. This is our chance to influence the local politics to our advantage.

  • Here’s the other Crew. They disguised their ship as a merchantman. All according to plan.
  • It needs to feel like a real battle. We hit all the expected notes, in the most bombastic way possible.
  • The other guys are having a soaring good time playing pretend, and truth be told, so are we!
  • We find Bennett shaking in his cabin. We praise how… “bravely” he behaved during his first “real” battle.
  • Theatre is an art. Bennett doesn’t seem fully convinced by our performance. We let the other ship “escape” for now.
  • Deactivates all Crown Patrol danger states in the world.

Option 1Gold, of course. The Golden Chain agrees to our terms and refers us to a trustworthy Crew, currently unemployed. We tell them of our upcoming “performance”… and what we need them to do.
Option 2Quality Wine. It’s Port Concordat’s speciality after all.He almost chokes on his Wine. “Me?! On an honest-to-goodness piratical yarn? Oh, friends, you have no idea how that would please me!” We do have an inkling, though…
Option 3Gifts from politicians are bad luck. Throw it overboard. We say nothing, and neither does he, at least for a while. “Oh well, there’s no point in daydreaming about another life, is there? Feel free to come any time. I love these tales of yours.”
Option 4We’ll think about it.
