The Gubernatorial Race
With Thornfield’s departure, the Crown is about to pick a new governor for the region. This is our chance to influence the local politics to our advantage.
Event flow
Section titled “Event flow”- Here’s the other Crew. They disguised their ship as a merchantman. All according to plan.
- It needs to feel like a real battle. We hit all the expected notes, in the most bombastic way possible.
- The other guys are having a soaring good time playing pretend, and truth be told, so are we!
- We find Bennett shaking in his cabin. We praise how… “bravely” he behaved during his first “real” battle.
- Theatre is an art. Bennett doesn’t seem fully convinced by our performance. We let the other ship “escape” for now.
- Deactivates all Crown Patrol danger states in the world.
Choices and Outcomes
Section titled “Choices and Outcomes”| Decision | Choose | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Option 1 | Gold, of course. | The Golden Chain agrees to our terms and refers us to a trustworthy Crew, currently unemployed. We tell them of our upcoming “performance”… and what we need them to do. |
| Option 2 | Quality Wine. It’s Port Concordat’s speciality after all. | He almost chokes on his Wine. “Me?! On an honest-to-goodness piratical yarn? Oh, friends, you have no idea how that would please me!” We do have an inkling, though… |
| Option 3 | Gifts from politicians are bad luck. Throw it overboard. | We say nothing, and neither does he, at least for a while. “Oh well, there’s no point in daydreaming about another life, is there? Feel free to come any time. I love these tales of yours.” |
| Option 4 | We’ll think about it. |
