Mechanics
Section titled “Mechanics”- Speed is used for distance gain, chasing, escaping, and fast movement branches.
- Speed is not just travel flavor: it can decide whether a ship keeps up, gets away, or turns movement into event progress.
- Use it for Hunters, chase events, timed movement, and branches that say to move fast or keep moving.
Rules and formulas
Section titled “Rules and formulas”| Rule | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Core rule | Rapid cruising ability of the ship. It is used in actions in the Events to overcome distance or avoid damage. Higher speed also reduces travel time on the sea. |
| Distance formula | Speed contributes to distance progress and avoidance. Event tooltips use the stat directly, the stat plus dice, or scaled forms such as stat divided by a distance factor. |
| Sea Legs | This is a Speed Sea Legs buff. It temporarily increases your ship’s speed after completing an Event. Further bonuses can be obtained by completing additional Events. Will be removed when the ship docks at its own island. |
